Feng Shui World Launched!
Ong: Do good for society
TheStar,
Monday 5th January 2004
KUALA LUMPUR: There is a lot more to life than merely making a living, said MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.
He said people should practise a philosophy that would enable them to do good for society, adding that they should follow the natural law of cause and effect.
"Do good and good will come to you now or thereafter, do bad and bad will come to you now or thereafter," Ong said, adding that this universal law was true for all religious practices as it followed the course of nature.
Ong was speaking yesterday at the launching of Feng Shui World, Asia's first feng shui magazine written in English by Lillian Too.
Elaborating on the law of cause and effect, he said: "In Buddhism, it's called karma. But this is true for every religion so people of different faiths can practise it."
Ong said Too had written about 50 books on feng shui which had been translated into 30 languages, in praising the feng shui writer for her great achievement as a Malaysian who made it onto the global scene.
"There is truly no limit to what you can achieve here in Malaysia," he said.
In her speech, Too said the magazine had been in existence for a year.
"We now have a print run of 35,000 copies and we are really happy to have reached this level of production after only a year," she said.
Too said she began her career as a feng shui writer more than 10 years ago and had been rejected by publishers on several occasions.
She said she persevered as she is a great believer in feng shui and wanted to share its benefits with people. |
